Work Groups

Udalsarea 2030 is the driving force behind the thematic working groups to generate methodology and knowledge to implement local sustainability actions. The knowledge and methodology generated are reflected in handbooks and publications, and shared with the other members of the network.

Nature-Based Solutions Group

The Nature-Based Solutions Group seeks to facilitate the implementation of nature-based Solutions (NbS) at municipal level to address social and environmental challenges, in areas such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, restoration of degraded land, urban regeneration and retrofitting of building, adaptation in coastal environments, etc. The group strives to provide local authorities with the expertise and tools to facilitate the implementation of NbS, identify the needs and difficulties in the municipalities to implement those solutions (technical difficulties, cost, maintenance needs, lack of knowledge, etc.), pinpoint and disseminate success stories (effective, efficient) in the implementation of NbS, and find financing avenues and programmes. Local 2030 Agenda Group

The working group to implement the Local 2030 Agenda seek to generate a meeting place, where the different local stakeholders working on the design of their 2030 Agenda at municipal and/or supramunicipal level can share experiences. It is the third work group developed by the network to support the municipalities in their embracing the 2030 Agenda. The 2030 Agenda offers all levels of the administration a standard framework for planning sustainable development. In the case of the municipalities and supramunicipal districts, it may lead to the necessary change to coordinate and definitively mainstream those local policies that contribute to sustainable development. The working group is a learning and meeting point between the local authorities that are overhauling their sustainable development roadmap by aligning it to the Sustainable Development Goals.
